A series of Facebook Apps I worked on while at Exposure as part of the Bulmers ‘Experimenters Wanted’ Summer campaign. They describe the campaign as –

“…celebrating the launch of new Bulmers Nº17 by running a series of experiments across the country all summer long…”

Experiments vary from Quick Polls to tweet powered robot races, you can check them all out here

Google Chrome 'fastball'

A fun (and pretty engaging) little Flash based game for Google Chrome’s latest release celebrating it’s new integration of Flash into the browser. Produced by BBH the game guides you through various timed tests in an obstacle course to try and achieve the fastest time, all using Googles API. There’s a ‘which mode of transport is quicker between A and B’, using Google maps, as well as tests requiring tweeting and using trending information. All in all a nice way to take a few mins out from work!

The first of a collection of HTML5 & Javascript animated experiments produced by Exposure Studio for the Bulmers Cider Summer campaign. I had the luck of being the freelancer given this project to work on, and although it’s been hard work, and due to the 3D rendered assets provided by Taylor James has involved a lot of very large files, it’s going to be worth it. The other experiments will be rolled out over the coming weeks, so make sure you check back here, or on the Bulmers Facebook page, to catch them all!

Tom Walsh Design - Bulmers YouTube Channel

Tom Walsh Design - Bulmers Twitter page

For the past few months I’ve been freelancing at Exposure Studio working on all of the digital projects for Bulmers cider’s Summer campaign. It’s been a long slog as there’s a LOT of design work involved (and a lot of non-design work too, as anyone else working on the project will tell you..) but finally little pieces are starting to appear online. First came a taster of the Facebook App, with a fully degradable HTML5/JQuery animation (click here to see my post on that, including a video of the animation) but as for fully branded online spaces it’s Twitter and YouTube that are leading the rest into their new homes. By far the simplest sections of the whole project they’re more intended as a suggestion of what’s to come, but it’s always a nice feeling to see a project finally coming into fruition..

Tom Walsh Design - L.K.Bennett YouTube Channel

Following the popularity of last seasons ‘Life Is The Occasion’ AW10 campaign, featuring real women, L.K.Bennett’s SS11 campaign has even more in depth video interviews with each of its ‘brand ambassadors’. With this in mind it only seemed natural to find a suitable medium to showcase the full campaign and five individual video pieces, and today I was given the go ahead to launch the L.K.Bennett ‘Life Is The Occasion’ YouTube Channel! My first time working with YouTube Channels I was surprised by the flexibility they offer for customisation, which allowed me to adapt it to reflect the brand and look quite nice at the same time (if I do say so myself..).

Above is the main campaign video, and if you’d like to check the full channel out you can take a look here

Tom Walsh Design - Twittertry

Twittertry was set up both as a bit of fun and as part of my ongoing experiments with feeds. The idea was to pull random Twitter feeds and put them next to each other in a familiar format and see if an occasional relationship formed between the lines of text. As Twitter runs an instant commentary on day to day occurances from a world wide perspective it’s sometimes nice to see what someone might want to share from one side of the world, placed immediately next to what someone else might be thinking on the other.

Take a look here www.twittertry.co.uk
(If you refresh your browser it searches for a new feed for each line out of a set file of 100 or so)
